Does anyone know how to cancel a thread???  Well this one needs to be canceled. I WON THE BID IN JONESBORO..!!! My stomach has been in knots all day so now I am sending this message out with tears rolling down my face. The salesman just called to tell me I won the bid. He is planning on bringing it to Memphis tomorrow. I am so EXCITED. Now I am a real member of the club.

With the holiday on Thursday it has made a mess of the week. Were there any volunteers at the audio shop to look at the Miata in Jonesboro?  Bidding is over today at 3pm. My phone number is 901-336-0842.

A friend of mine recommended auctionsniper.com. That is what I have my bid in the max bid for me is 4500.  The dealers website is asking 6997. I don't think I need to spend that much for it.

I love this car...... I have put a bid on it. I forgot to mention my budget is around 4500. If your guys down the street can look at this one, that would be great.  Would you explain the terms NB and NA?

Thanks everyone. I have been talking to this fellow in email. Today I called Sam at Tracy's , he said no. Several factors were considered.  I saw my first pink Miata Sunday at kroger. Cute but not my choice of paint.  I also called about the white  one for sale in Bartlett, it has been sold.

possible candidate for me

I may go look at a car today,  a 99 on craigslist #1439358273 it is in my price range.  There are no pics so I maybe very disappointed. The car is in Olive Branch or Southaven.Seems like a nice day for a trip!  He says "Black top has torn place, radiator fans don't work"  How serious could the fans be ? Is this an easy fix? Has anyone experienced this?

The paint was shiny and almost flawless with a little chip marks on the nose. The top was just like new. The seats were also perfect. The only thing wrong was it leaked around the base of the front windsheild. So I covered him up in the rain. I felt so beautiful and sexy when we drove around. A lady stopped me one day at Blockbuster, said what a beautiful car and it looks so good on you. Are you having a midlife crisis, I told her after my husband left me I replaced him with 'Hayato'. I had a Japanese couple name him for me. His name meant fast as an eagle. When my son became ill and lost  his job I could not pay 2 car notes,   soooo Hayato got sold. I have seen him around Bartlett twice.One day maybe things will get better. I still have Stella the Mini.
Automatic transmission is a must (don't know how to shift) I like the pop up lights like Joe's (Classic Motorsport mag said may be collectors soon) I like the wrap around lights also. I don't need the hard top because I could not lift it by myself. I would need  the car to be in ready to drive condition, since I am not smart about the engine things.

I am there almost every Thursday.The rain has cut attendance. On a good clear night there is around 150 cars. There is just about anything you can imagine. The Memphis Mustang Club has alot of cars, the Corvette Club also shows up. I am usually the only British car, but I do events with The Chevy Club. We have a great time visiting and looking at cars. One night a Miata showed up that had been extremely modified, I didn't see it but heard it was amazing and fast as lightning. I think the rain is coming back to the area for Thursday. Hope to see some of the club members at The Bartlett Cruise Night.

Thank you to everyone. The car I wanted was on Ebay. Beautiful car from Florida, hard top real pretty photos. I was warned that it may not be a wise choice. This has opened up several other leads which I will follow up on. This is alot like your first love... nothing else can measure up. The 03 that I had last year was the most perfect car.. I don't know that another car will measure up to his beauty. I was in Blytheville at the car show with you.  I am the VP of The British Sports Car Club and own a classic Mini. She is a great car but my love for cars is pushing me towards a Miata, again. I will keep you posted.

Help with a purchase

I found a 97 hard top for sale. I had an 03 a couple years ago that was mint condition! I would like to purchase the 97 (has 133000 miles). I am not sure who could look over the car and engine to be sure it doesn't have any major issues. There is minor paint damage on the back bumper,I can live with or have it painted later. I drove it on Friday, seems smooth, the motor looks good, no rust some new wires.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  Where is the soft top stored if there is one? It is not in the trunk.
